“DIGITAL INDIA” being a key national objective for the century, apart from advantages like fast and convenient transactions there are ripple effects like reduced cost, curbs black money and corruption, increases transparency and accountability which bound to boost the overall economy. In this light, “DIGITAL INDIA MISSION” unveiled with main pillar of giving thrust to faceless, paperless and cashless digital transactions.

Telecom industry is one of the critical lifelines for Indian economy which have highest share of non-tax revenue, expanding its subscriber base rapidly and have enormous potential with respect to imparting digital transactions culture in India. Keeping the key consideration, CONTROLLER OF COMMUNICATION ACCOUNTS were made DESIGNATED MONITORING AUTHORITY for successful implementation of digital payments mission and entrusted to ensure Monitoring & Promotion of Digital payments in Telecom sector by coordinating with all stakeholders.

 In addition to this, to increase the reach and to cover more telecom retailers this function has been further entrenched to smart cities also. O/o Controller of Communication Accounts, BHOPAL DESIGNATED MONITORING AUTHORITY for Madhya Pradesh with seven smart cities Bhopal, Gwalior, Ujjain, Indore, Jabalpur, Sagar and Satna scheduled DIGIDHAN WORKSHOPS/MELAS in all the smart cities with focus on TELECOM RETAILERS and with coordination of NPCI (National Payment Corporation Of India ), for technical expertise.
