Pension

Pension has been a major focus area of this office. Dealing pension cases of 5 BSNL Circles whose offices are spread over entire eastern and north-eastern India is a challenge in itself. However, instead of getting daunted by this challenge we have tried to reach out to pensioners living in different parts of West Bengal & Sikkim.

PPO dis-tribution at selected sites (Kolkata, Siliguri, Asansol and Gangtok) is an initiative that has gradually acquired the character of “Pensioner’s Meet”. However, our outreach to pensioners is not limited to these four places only. District Digital Life Certificate (DLC) facilitation camps were organized in Purulia, Bankura, Suri, Asansol, Raiganj, Balurghat, Siliguri, Kalimpong and Gangtok during the month of November. Large number of pensioners came to the camp and registered their DLC. Now the pensioners expect us to reach out to them.

SAMPANN is the latest initiative in making lives of pensioners better. With implementation of SAMPANN on 29th December 2018 this office took up the role of Pension Disbursement Authority (PDA). Now we are in a position to guarantee that a retiring employee will get his first pension in his bank account on the last day of the month following his retirement.
